We held a Community Fun Day, on Saturday 23rd April in school, this event was organised in partnership with The Office of West Midlands Crime Commissioner, MWN and Chandos Primary School with an invitation to Ladypool Primary School and St Albans C.E. School as well as local support networks and agencies.
This provided an opportunity for parents / carers, friend’s families and children to come together to enjoy a fun day of activities including bouncy castles, face painting, balloonist, Anti-Bullying Road Show, Dom The Entertainer , penalty shootout, Buffalo ride, slush machines, food as well as professional advice and support agencies including Barnardo’s, Healthy Minds, Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS, Ashram Housing, Muslim Women Network, Victim Support, Health Exchange, Gateway and many more as well as free food and refreshments.
The event echoed the community connection and cohesion within our communities, and the overwhelming support that communities show when events like this take place. It was truly an honour to be part of it.
From our perspective it was a great success evidenced by feedback from professional’s partners and agencies who learnt a great deal about the community they serve. This event will certainly help to shape future services and all they offer.
Many thanks to all who helped and attended before, during and after the event.. The support was overwhelming.
